Syphilis test: Testing methods

Syphilis is usually verified via blood test (quick test or laboratory test). The quick test detects antibodies in the blood, thus proving whether a person ever suffered from this kind of infection. Even after cure, antibodies are still verifiable in a blood test so that an antibody test will still be positive if the patient has recovered. Therefore, in order to verify an active infection, people with a positive quick test must also do a laboratory test.
